How do you handle safety and support?

You travel with a private guide, private 4×4, planned transfers and lodge teams who know the route. We include medical evacuation cover and give you clear local support contacts before arrival.

What about malaria and vaccinations?

Entry and health requirements depend on your routing and nationality. We flag the common requirements early, then ask you to confirm medical advice with your physician or travel clinic before departure.

How do we get to Tanzania?

Most guests arrive through Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), often via Amsterdam, Doha, Istanbul, Addis Ababa or Nairobi. We help align international arrivals with lodge nights, internal flights and private transfers.

Is there Wi-Fi and cell service?

All six lodges have Wi-Fi in main areas (some in tents). You'll have signal in Arusha, Tarangire, and Manyara; spotty in Ngorongoro; minimal in central Serengeti — by design. Each lodge has a charging station and we provide a satellite phone for the family.

What if our children get sick or scared?

Joseph is Wilderness First Responder certified and travels with a full kit. Every lodge has a doctor on call. Kids' meals are arranged at each property. If a child needs to skip a game drive, the lodge has a pool, kids' programs, and one of our team will stay with them.

Can we customize the itinerary?

Always. The 10-day circuit is our most popular structure but every detail is built around your family — pace, lodge style, children's interests, anniversary surprises, dietary needs. No two Lumara journeys have ever been identical.

How does payment work?

Payment terms depend on lodge availability, season and the final itinerary. We confirm the deposit, balance dates and cancellation terms clearly before you approve the booking.
